LAHORE: Pakistan Muslim League-N (PML-N) Vice President Maryam Nawaz on Tuesday said that she faced state barbarism today outside office of the National Accountability Bureau (NAB) in Lahore.
“Our party would extend legal support to its workers arrested by police from outside NAB office,” Maryam Nawaz said while addressing a press conference in Lahore. About 50 PML-N workers were arrested for violent protests held outside the NAB office in a bid to create hurdle in NAB’s interrogation from Maryam.
The PML-N vice president said stones were pelted on her vehicle from behind the barriers placed before the NAB office. She said she was oblivious of presence of a sea of people at the NAB office. She also prayed for fast recovery of the injured party workers.
She termed the clash between PML-N workers and police ‘an act of terrorism by the NAB’.

“The purpose of summoning me to the NAB office was to hurt me. If it were not a bullet proof vehicle I would have been badly injured. I was adamant not to go back until they issued a press release cancelling interrogation of land scam case,” she said.
Maryam said the NAB had to answer about their role in political engineering and helping the government. She said the NAB would have to answer for their actions of revenge. She said no allegation was levelled against her in the summon notice issued to her.
She said PM Imran feared for his end as he had committed big oppressions.
