LAHORE: A citizen on Tuesday lodged an FIR against Pakistan Muslim League-N (PML-N) Vice President Maryam Nawaz and 44 other PML-N leaders for violating the standard operating procedures of coronavirus in Lahore.
The former ruling party of Punjab has started organizing corner meetings across the province ahead of the Pakistan Democratic Movement (PDM) gathering on Dec 13.
The FIR mentions names of 45 people and five to six hundred other unidentified people. Some of the leaders who are nominated in the FIR include Talal Chaudhry, Marriyum Aurangzeb, Malik Abrar, and MNA Malik Riaz.
Muhammed Abid filed the case against them at the Shahdara police station for holding public gatherings across the country despite ban by the government due to spike in the number of coronavirus cases.
The complainant alleged that the PML-N vice president delivered a hate speech in the city. He also said that the party leaders had gathered more than 600 people and blocked main arteries of the metropolis.
