 Martyred Major hailing from Karachi had married widow of captain

KARACHI: Major Adeel Shahid, who embraced martyrdom along a sepoy on Pak-Afghan border in Mohmand District a day earlier, hailed from Karachi and had married a widow of an army captain.

Wife of Major Adeel Zaidi had a daughter, Sibgha Fatima, from Captain Mujahid Basheer, who embraced martyrdom during Zarb-e-Azb operation in 2014.

She had twin daughters from Adeel in 2017.

A squad under the martyred officer was supervising fencing work, in an area which carried critical infiltration route, when they fell victim to an improvised explosive device planted by terrorists from across the border.

The funeral prayer of the major will be offered after Zohrain prayers at Masjid Khair-ul-Amal Ancholi on September 21 (today). The martyr will be buried in the the Wadi e Hussain graveyard.
