Martyrdom Day of Hazrat Umar (RA)

Perfection of justice, unparalleled victories, everlasting sacrifices for religion, piety and great vision, whose titles are Farooq and surname Abu Hafs, the second caliph, Hazrat Umar Farooq’s martyrdom day is being observed with devotion and respect today on 1st Muharram.
Hazrat Umar Farooq, who ruled over 2.2 million square miles, was a practical example of justice which is a beacon for Muslims.
The second caliph, Hazrat Umar Farooq, was born thirteen years after the Aamul Feel event. With the conversion of Syedna Farooq Azam to Islam, the glory of Islam began to increase. Muslims began to offer public prayers in Baitullah Sharif. In his Khilafah, the Islamic Empire covered an area of 2.2 million square miles. His reign was very blessed and the cause of the spread of Islam.
During the Farooqi era, major countries such as Egypt, Iran, Rome and Syria were conquered, 4,000 mosques were built for general prayers and 900 mosques for Friday prayers.
The first qiblah of Baitul Muqaddas was also conquered without a fight in the time of Farooqi. After the migration, Syedna Umar Farooq Azam remained with the Holy Prophet (SAWW) in all the expeditions.
According to scholars and jurists, there are about twenty-five verses of the Qur’an which were revealed in support of Farooq e Azam. The second caliph used to patrol at night to know the situation of his people.
On Wednesday the 27th of Dhul-Hijjah, the Iranian Magi Abul Feroz stabbed Hazrat Umar (RA) during the Fajr prayers and severely injured him.
On the 1st of Muharram, this glorious warrior of Islam, the fruit of the prayers of the Prophet (may peace and blessings of Allah be upon him), the crown prince of the Islamic caliphate attained the status of martyrdom at the age of 63.
