Marriage halls should be allowed hosting events: Karachi Tajir Ittehad chairman

KARACHI: All Karachi Tajir Ittehad Chairman Atiq Meer on Thursday demanded from the government to allow marriage halls in Karachi to resume their work adopting precautionary measures amid coronavirus situation.

“Citizens should be given the opportunity to celebrate marriage events in nerve-straining environment of COVID-19 pandemic,” he said in a statement.

The All Karachi Tajir Ittehad Chairman said that more than 30 businesses related to marriage halls were shut down and over one million people working for those businesses were jobless.

He said those who used to cook for others were themselves unable to find meals.
