Man tries to set mosque on fire in France
PARIS: An unknown suspect poured a can of petrol on a mosque and tried to set it on fire in Chateaudun, France.
General Secretary of Islamic Confederation National Opinion (CİMG) Fatih Saikir said a man arrived and set the mosque on fire after pouring gasoline onto it but it was immediately put off. Turkish news agency, Anadolu Agency quoted the head of the mosque as saying that only a part of the building was damaged and no casualty took place.
The management of the mosque lodged an FIR against the suspect, upon which police visited the site of the incident and started investigation.
Police said that it was an attempted arson incident and they would check surveillance camera footages for investigation.
