Man Steals 111 Mobiles During 35 Hours Heist in Saddar
A lone robber managed to rob 111 mobile phones in a heist that went on for 35 hours.
While people were enjoying monsoon rains, a man was robbing mobile phones worth PKR 3.5 million from Aman Tower in Saddar, Karachi.
It is reported that the robber sprayed black paint on all the CCTV cameras and came prepared with food items.The theif broke all the shop locks and stole 111 Android phones, officials confirmed.
The Preedy police registered a case (FIR 717/2019) under relevant sections of the Pakistan Penal Code (PPC) and launched an investigation.
“After hectic efforts and analyzing CCTV footage, a suspect has been arrested in Saddar and 80 mobiles have been recovered so far,” said the SSP.
The SSP identified the suspect as Yasir. He said that the suspect was familiar with the entrance passage. The officials somehow recovered a CCTV footage of the suspect entering the mall and people also recognized him.
The heist became more suspicious as there were four guards present at the gates of the mobile market. However, in the initial investigation the police ruled out possibility of involvement of any guard in the theft.
