RAWALPINDI: A man was arrested Friday in Rawalpindi for illegally possessing and exhibiting weapons in public.

The man, who was identified as Nasir Mehmood alias Nasiri, was accused of spreading fear among Jatli residents.

“We confiscated one gun from him, two handguns and other cartridges,” said a police officer. He was arrested by the Rawalpindi police in anti-terror operation, he said.

“Police worked to restore the region’s rule,” Saddar SP Ziauddin said. “Police operations have proved successful,” he added.

Investigations are under way against others of whom people have protested against.
