Man dies of ‘happiness’ after Supreme Court rules in his favor in property case
A man named Umar Ali ostensibly dies of ‘happiness’ after the Supreme Court ruled in favor of him in a five-year-old land dispute case.
Umar Ali, resident of Battagram area of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa asked his lawyer that in which party’s favor verdict came.
The lawyer replied, “It is in your favor” and after saying this, the lawyer went ahead, immediately people shouted at him while saying that your client has fallen.
Apparently, ‘The decision is in your favor’ were the last words due to which Battagram resident suffered a heart attack and died.
The case was that Umar Ali purchased land in Battagram in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa. However, his opponents filed a claim on the land.
He filed an appeal against his opponents’ move in the Supreme Court in 2017.
In 2017, Umar Ali appealed to the Supreme Court against the decision. After 5 years, at the first hearing, Justice Ijazul Ahsan and Justice Mazahir Ali Akbar Naqvi, after hearing the arguments, accepted Umar Ali’s appeal and annulled the decision of the High Court.
Thus, after 18 years, the joy of getting justice took his life.
