ISLAMABAD/ HIJAZ: Hujjaj have started flying back to their respective countries from Hijaz while Makkah will be open for Umra from today onwards after the five-day Hajj rituals concluded.
At least 2.5 million pilgrims (Hujjaj) have performed Hajj this year.
On the last day, pilgrims performed the ritual of throwing seven pebbles each on three pillars resembling the Devils (Shaitan). Then they left Mina before sunset and returned to their residential buildings, after spending two nights there. They performed this ritual easily and comfortably due to the new organization of the Jamarat area and the plan of dispatching pilgrims in groups to the Jamarat facility. Last day, the Hujjaj performed Tawaf-e-Wida before leaving.
Minister for Religious Affairs and Interfaith Harmony Dr Noor-ul-Haq Qadri congratulated the pilgrims on completion of Hajj with ease, tranquility and safety. He thanked Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques King Salman bin Abdulaziz, Crown Prince Mohammad bin Salman, Saudi Arabian Ministry of Hajj and Umrah, and Governor of Makkah for making excellent arrangements.
Dr Noor-ul-Haq Qadri said 47 Makatib were selected for this year’s Hajj and complaints were received about two of them. He said the government of Pakistan has asked the South Asia Establishment for taking strict action against the said Makatib.
He said 72 ailing Pakistani pilgrims were given the facility of ambulance to perform Hajj rituals.
Over 18,55,029 pilgrims came from across the world, while 6,34,379 were internal Hujjaj. Out of the total pilgrims 13,85,234 were male, while 11,04,172 women performed the Hajj. This year 200,000 Pakistani pilgrims performed Hajj.
Information desk, Lost and Found section, Call Centre, and Complaint Cell were established in Mina to help and guide Pakistani pilgrims. Over 600 Muavineen (helpers) and 2,000 volunteers are also in the field to extend any assistance to the pilgrims. Besides, the Saudi Arabian government has also made excellent security, health, and civic arrangements. The Hujjaj will leave for Arafat after Fajar prayer tomorrow.
