Major General Babar Iftikhar replaces Asif Ghafoor as DG ISPR
KARACHI: Major General Babar Iftikhar has replaced Major General Asif Ghafoor replaced as the new director general of media wing of the armed forces, the Inter Services Public Relations (ISPR).
Asif Ghafoor was appointed as spokesperson of Pakistan Armed Forces on December 26, 2016. He has now been appointed GOC (40 Division) Okara.
According to the ISPR, four senior major generals have been transferred and posted. Maj Gen Azhar Waqas has been appointed DG Military Intelligence and Maj Gen Sarfaraz appointed Balochistan Frontier Corps inspector general.
In a message shared by the ISPR on its Twitter account, the outgoing spokesperson said, “Alhamdulillah. Thanks to everyone I have remained associated with during the tenure. My very special thanks to media all across. Can’t thank enough fellow Pakistanis for their love and support. Best wishes to the new DG ISPR for his success. #PakArmedForcesZindabad #PakistanZindabad.”
