Major-General Ahmed Sharif appointed as new DG ISPR
Major-General Ahmed Sharif has been posted as the new director-general of the Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR) and replaces incumbent Maj Gen Babar Iftikhar.
Maj Gen Sharif was previously serving as Director-General Defence Science and Technology Organization (DESTO), which is a secretive organization engaged in scientific and technical research and the development of weapons systems in the disciplines of aerodynamics, propulsion and propellants, and avionics.
Maj Gen Ahmed Sharif is from the corps of Electrical and Mechanical Engineering (EME).
Former DG ISPR Maj Gen Babar Iftikhar assumed the office in January 2020 and replaced Lt-Gen Asif Ghafoor.
Maj Gen Iftikhar was commissioned in 6 Lancers in March 1990. He is a graduate of Command and Staff College Quetta, National Defence University Islamabad and the Royal Command and Staff College Jordan.
