Mahira Khan receives heartfelt letter from UNHCR

Recently, Mahira Khan was appointed as United Nations High Commissioner for Refugees (UNHCR) Goodwill Ambassador for Pakistan in appreciation of her humanitarian efforts.

Mahira shared a heartfelt letter received from the UN Refugee Agency on her social media. Mahira took to Instagram to share her joyful feelings with her 5 million followers. She wrote,
“I received the sweetest letter from UNHCR for my parents. Needless to say it made me extremely emotional. My Ama was crying and my Aba was smiling his biggest smile.”
She continued writing,
“Sometimes I forget that I have been chosen to be put in the position that I am in, given the platform I have been given and the kind of love that I receive. I hope and pray that I can always always uphold the responsibility I have been given by my country, my fans and my loved ones inshAllah.”
The superstar actor ended her response with a dedication to her parents.
“Forever grateful, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Hafeez R Khan.”
Mahira also shared a post of her receiving the official UNHCR appointment.
