Madrassahs to remain closed across Pakistan till Apr 5: Wafaq ul Madaris

MULTAN: Wafaq ul Madaris Al-Arabia, Pakistan has announced to close madrassahs across Pakistan till April 5, 2020.

According to the press release, signed by Wafaq ul Madaris Al-Arabia, Pakistan Vice President II Mufti Muhammed Rafi Usmani and Vice President I Maulana Anwaarul Haq, an emergency huddle was chaired by Maulana Anwaar in Karachi on March 14 to mull over the situation arising from spread of coronavirus.

The forum unanimously decided that as a precautionary measure holidays would be observed in all the madrassahs across the country till April 5, according to the announcement of the Pakistan government.

The examinations scheduled to be held during this time have been postponed till April 5. Dates for exams would be announced later, viewing the situation.

Mufti Taqi Usmani has asked people to perform ablution and Sunnah namaz at homes. He has also asked prayer leaders to recite short qira’at.
