Madrassa teacher mercilessly beats 9-year-old for not memorising Lesson in Lahore

A madrassa teacher mercilessly beat a 9-year-old student with a thick stick for not memorising lesson given by him, causing his head to split open in Kot Lakhpat area of Lahore.

According to the police, 9-year-old Usman was studying in Madrassa in Madina Masjid near to his house.

The madrasah teacher Imran tortured Usman with a thick stick for not memorising the lesson.

Explaining the details of the incident, the police said that Usman got deep injuries on his head and forehead, after which he was shifted to the hospital.

On the other hand, the police registered a case against the accused Imran and handed him over to the investigation wing for further investigation in the case.

In 2021, the National Assembly of Pakistan has passed a bill banning corporal punishment and setting out penalties for persons physically punishing children.

The Prohibition of Corporal Punishment Bill effectively bans all forms of corporal punishment “however light” at the workplace, in all types of educational institutions including formal, informal, and religious — both public and private, in child care institutions including foster care, rehabilitation centres and any other alternative care settings.
