‘Madadgar Police’ introduced by Peshawar police to facilitate citizens
Peshawar police have introduced “Madadgar Police” to facilitate the citizens in the police station to provide them with timely assistance and if any help is needed.
With the establishment of DRC, “Asaan Insaf Markaz” and Women’s Desk, the process of deploying police assistants in the police stations of Peshawar has been started to solve the problems of the citizens coming to the police station and take them to the concerned offices and departments so any required help could be provided immediately to the citizens.
Initially, police support has been deployed in Rehman Baba Police Station, Sarband Police Station of the Saddar division who will always be engaged in providing assistance to senior citizens and others coming in the police stations.
It should be mentioned that apart from the Madadgar Police facility, Peshawar police has taken steps in facilitating the citizens by introducing different assistance to the public.
Earlier in June, in a bid to revive the old practice, a mounted police unit was introduced in Peshawar’s cantonment area.
Police mounted on horses started patrolling the Saddar market, said SSP Operation Yasir Afridi adding that such patrolling had been a part of the tradition in the past. He said it would make people realize that police were within their approach.
Yasir Afridi said that initially two troops comprising eight horses each were posted to perform duties to maintain law and order situation.
“The horse riders will patrol at sensitive locations including near Governor House, Chief Minister House, IG House, Mall Road, CPO and Police Line, while a special course of action has been devised for monitoring the mounted police units,” he said.
