ISLAMABAD: Prime Minister Imran Khan on Sunday appointed Lieutenant General Faiz Hamid as new director general of the Inter-Services Intelligence (ISI), Pakistan’s intelligence agency.
In April this year, Faiz was promoted from the rank of general to lieutenant general and later he was posted as adjutant general at the General Headquarters, Rawalpindi.
He has already served in the spy agency for two-and-a-half years. He has replaced Lt Gen Syed Asim Munir Ahmed Shah, who served as the head of the ISI for a brief period. Asim Munir Ahmed Shah has been posted as Corps Commander Gujranwala.
Media wing of the armed forces, the Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR) in a press release confirmed the reshuffle in army ranks.
Lieutenant General Aamir Abbasi has been appointed as quarter master general, Pakistan Army. Lieutenant General Moazzam Ejaz has been appointed as engineer in chief. Lieutenant General Sahir Shamshad Mirza has been appointed as adjutant general, Pakistan Army.
