LHC allows theatres to remain open till 11:30 pm

The Lahore High court (LHC) has directed authorities to extend the time for shutting down movie theatres by 11:30 pm.
Justice Shahid Karim of Lahore High Court heard the request of the Punjab Artists Producers and Theaters Association against the move to close the theatres of Lahore at 8 pm.
Counsel for the petitioner contended that theatres should be allowed to run from 11 pm to 1 am.
Public Advocate Makhdoom Tipu took the stand that markets are being closed at 8 pm on the instructions of the Punjab government, theatres are open till late at night and people from all walks of life reach their jobs late.
The court remarked that we have to change our lifestyle to get rid of smog, the court is doing all this for the people, the whole city should sleep early to get rid of smog.
The court ordered the closure of the theatres from 9:30 PM to 11:30 PM and remarked that there will be no further negotiations in this regard.
