Let’s make South Punjab a province together, Shah Mehmood Qureshi

The government sought the help of the opposition for legislation for South Punjab province, Foreign Minister Shah Mehmood Qureshi wrote a letter to opposition leaders Shahbaz Sharif and Bilawal Bhutto.
Parliamentary leaders have been invited for the constitutional amendment, names have been sought for a special committee of the parliament, Shah Mehmood Qureshi’s letter was received in the chamber of Leader of the Opposition.
The Foreign Minister has requested all the major parties in Parliament to extend necessary cooperation for the establishment of South Punjab Province.
The letter said that he was writing to form a separate province of South Punjab comprising Multan, DG Khan and Bahawalpur divisions. Making South Punjab a separate province is a long-standing aspiration of the people of the region and a key component of the PTI’s manifesto. However, the main obstacle to fulfilling the aspirations of 35 million people is a constitutional amendment that would require a two-thirds majority in parliament.
To overcome this hurdle, I invite you to support Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) and play a historic role in making this initiative a reality for the future of 35 million people.
