PESHAWAR: District Administration of Peshawar will take action against those violating lockdown and breaching section 144.
96 people were recently arrested for violating lockdown rules, said a spokesperson.
A general store was sealed for allowing crowd gatherings on University Road, said the spokesperson.
Three photo studio shops were also sealed on Kohat Road after closing shutters and continuing work inside.
16 tailors were also arrested for working inside their shops with the shutters closed.
Most of the traders were arrested for opening shops despite ban on business and for patrolling in bazaars unnecessarily, added the spokesperson.
Deputy Commissioner of Peshawar Muhammad Ali Asghar along with Assistant Commissioner Noman Ali Shah conducted operations on lockdown violations at University Road and other areas.
Assistant Commissioner (Matni) Rizwana Dar took action against those violating lockdown on Kohat Road.
Meanwhile, Assistant Commissioner Muhammad Shafiq Afridi and Assistant Commissioner Kashif Jan conducted operation on GT Road and Firdous Phatak area.
“People should follow orders given by the provincial government,” said DC Peshawar, Muhammad Ali Asghar. “Nobody should leave their homes unnecessarily.”
Lockdown violation will be prosecuted and legal action taken against those arrested, he added.
