Famous and beautiful singer Naheed Akhtar of Akstan was born in 1954 in Multan. As a young woman, she started singing from Radio Pakistan Multan because of her passion.
In 1970, she participated in the PTV program Lok Tamasha. There, her song “Meno Soda Water Le De Roz Balma Kehndi” became very popular. Pakistan’s legendary singer Naheed Akhtar, who impressed people with her melodious and beautiful voice through a cultural program, has made a name for herself in the music world.
Naheed Akhtar’s fame increased further but the song “Kisi Mehraban Ne Aake Meri Zindagi Sajjadi” from the movie “Shama” increased her popularity immensely.
In 1991, Naheed Akhtar quit singing after marrying renowned playwright Asif Ali Pota. Bollywood was also impressed by the charm of her beautiful voice and she copied many songs sung by Naheed Akhtar in her films.
There is a long list of Naheed Akhtar’s most popular songs, ghazals, and melodies, some of his songs and ghazals became very popular. She was awarded the Presidential Award for Excellence in 2007 by the Government of Pakistan for his valuable services in the world of music.
