Large coal reserves emerge in Thar

QUETTA: While Pakistani and Chinese engineers are working together day and night on CPEC, now another important news has enriched Pakistan. Coal came out of Thar Coal Block One included in CPEC.
Deputy CEO Sino Sindh Resources Company Abdul Qayyum Chaudhry said that the coal has been released at Thar Coal Block One site after completion of 145 meters of excavation. He said that mining lease was given on May 24, 2012. Annual coal production in the first phase has reached 9 billion tons.
Abdul Qayyum Chaudhry further said that it is an important project of China’s historic Belt and Road Initiative. Pakistan and China have joined the project in the Joint Energy Working Group. He said that 1330 MW power plant in Block-I was in the final stages of completion.
