LAHORE: The Pakistan Army soldier who was martyred in Muzaffarabad on August 15 has been laid to rest in Lahore.

Dialogue Pakistan on Saturday received footage of his funeral ceremony. Thousands of people including the martyr Lance Naik Taimoor’s family members, friends, relatives and neighbours attended the funeral on Walton Road in Lahore. People raised slogans of ‘long live Pakistan Army’.

Punjab Minister for Auqaf Pir Saeed ul Hassan Shah and chief of Tehreek-e-Labbaik Pakistan Khadim Hussain Rizvi were also present on this occasion. Pir Saeed ul Hassan Shah led the funeral prayer and the martyr was buried near Bab-e-Pakistan cemetery.

Two other soldiers had also embraced shahadat along Taimoor on August 15 in cross border firing.

Director General Inter Services Public Relations Maj Gen Asif Ghafoor had tweeted three Pakistani soldiers embraced shahadat. “Pakistan Army responded effectively. Five Indian soldiers killed, many injured and bunkers damaged,” he had said.
