LAHORE: In a bid to stem the spread of coronavirus, the Lahore administration has announced to impose citywide lockdown on Saturday and Sunday.
Lahore Commissioner Muhammed Usman Khan said businesses and markets would remain close on Saturday and Sunday, while essential services such as medical stores, fuel stations and vaccination centres would remain open.
The commissioner said that interprovincial transport would be completely banned on the weekend. While he also requested the masses to buy all the grocery and other essential commodities before the lockdown.
It should be noted that coronavirus positivity ratio in Punjab’s capital city, Lahore, has rocketed to 27.79 percent.
