 Lahore temperature falls off, extreme cold is expected

LAHORE: According to the Pakistan Meteorological Department (PMD), it is forecasted that Lahore is going to witness extreme cold within the next few days. The utmost temperature for today would be 16 degrees C.

The motorway spokesperson also informed that six motorways had been closed due to “the risky weather condition”. The motorways namely, Multan to Khanewal motorway, M-5 from Multan to Sukkur, M-4 from Faisalabad to Shamkot and M-3 from Lahore to Abdul Hakim have been closed for vehicles due to dense smog.

People have been warned and instructed to avoid travelling needlessly and use of fog lights are mandatory in such situation.

Other parts of Punjab have also been smoggy such as Rahim Yar Khan, Sadiqabad, Sahiwal, Khanewal and Lodhran.

Balochistan has not stayed back in dropping down the temperature. The lowest temperature recorded in Quetta was at -1 degrees. Whereas, Kalat recorded -3 degrees and Gawadar below 17 degrees.

MET Department further notified that the city will be bounded of cold waves all over the month.
