Lahore reports over 900 child abduction cases in 11 months

More than 900 cases of child kidnapping were reported in the capital city of Punjab in 11 months of the ongoing year, according to official data.
Lahore Police’s report revealed that at least 931 cases of child abduction were reported in last 11 months of the year 2022, in which 898 children have been recovered, while the search for 33 is underway.
According to the report, 96 suspects involved in the kidnapping incidents have been arrested and 75 cases are under investigation.
In the month of November, 44 cases of child abduction were reported, out of which 37 children have been recovered, while the search for the remaining 9 children is underway.
SSP Investigation Hasnain Haider said that sometimes children left their homes out of anger or went missing but cases in both circumstance were registered under kidnapping related sections.
He also dismissed the rumours circulating on social media claiming that a gang of kidnappers had been active in Lahore.
In some cases, children got depressed over the fight or heated arguments between parents which force them to leave house.
According to sources, CIA and investigation teams are working to recover the 33 children who have not been recovered yet.
