Lahore reports 3 rape cases in single day

Three rape cases were reported to police in Punjab’s capital during the last 24 hours, reflecting a spike in sexual assault incidents in Lahore.
The police have registered three separate cases of rape during the last 24 hours.
According to the First Information Report (FIR), a married woman was raped in Green Town by a supect named Waqas after luring her into a job trap. Waqas also grabbed Rs1 lakh from the rape victim.
The second incident was reported in Gojra, where a 20-year-old disabled woman was raped by the suspect named Sadaqat Ali.
The FIR was filed by the victim’s uncle, according to which the accused escaped after raping the handicapped woman.
The third incident was reported in Iqbal Town area of Lahore, where the suspect Tanveer sexually assaulted his 17-year-old cousin.
According to the FIR, the accused Tanveer sexually assaulted his cousin several times after promising to marry her.
Data reveals that 1,207 girls and 1,004 boys were victims of exploitation, while this data brings the number of abused children to more than 12 per day.
Despite the hanging of Imran Ali, the man convicted for the rape and murder of six-year-old Zainab Ansari in Kasur back in 2018, incidents of child sexual abuse have not stopped in the country.
