Lahore rape case: Maulana Tariq Jameel wants strictest possible punishment for culprits

Famous religious scholar Maulana Tariq Jameel has demanded from the government to give the culprits of Lahore link road rape case as strict punishment as possible.
Maulana Tariq Jameel also demanded to make amendments in the 150 years old colonial laws according to need and requirements of the modern era and our society.
He said in the existing laws, we came to know after 10 years that the person was innocent and he must be absolved. “God knows, how many innocent people have been executed,” he said.
“All the nations that fell prey to downfall, the reason was not economic instability or lack of resources. Quran says, ‘a nation faces downfall when they become inactive, unrighteous and mannerless. (Then) Allah catches them,” he said in context of the rape incident.
There was no obscenity beyond what had already taken place, he said adding that he had no words to condemn it. “It is such a discreditable incident that my tongue is shivering while speaking. The more condemnation of this act, the less it is,” he said.

Tariq Jameel said it was responsibility of the government and judiciary to provide swift justice to the masses.
The scholar asked the parents to pay special attention to upbringing of their children. He also spoke against co-education. He also asked people to avoid travelling alone at night.
