KARACHI: In the 11th fixture of the Pakistan Super League 6, Fakhar Zaman and Shaheen Shah Afridi guided Lahore Qalandars to victory against Karachi Kings at the National Stadium Karachi on Sunday.
Karachi Kings had set 187-run target against Lahore Qalandars with the hope that chasers might lose this time but the hopes were shattered and the trend continued.
Qalandars had a sadistic beginning as their skipper was run out for naught without playing a single ball in the first over, then Mohammad Amir removed Joe Denly for duck in the same over.
The key wicket of Lahore Qalandars fell in the fifth over as Mohammad Hafeez departed for 15 off 9 balls. Then Fakhar Zaman (83 off 54) was caught out in the 18th over after making a partnership of 119 runs with unbeaten Ben Dunk (57).
In the end, David Wiese took the charge and scored quickfire 31 off 9 with the help of three 6s and as many 4s to finish the match on a vitcory note.

Earlier, Karachi Kings won the toss and elected to field first against Lahore Qalandars.
Kings had a shaky start. Sharjeel Khan’s catch was dropped by Sohail Akhter in the first over. However, the most crucial wicket of Kings, Babar Azam (5), fell in third over off Shaheen Shah Afridi’s ball.
Joe Clarke was run out in the fifth over, while Colin Ingram went for duck in the same over off Daniyal’s ball. Sharjeel’s fiery stint of 64 runs off 39 balls ended in the 13th over off David Wiese, after making 76-run partnership with Mohammad Nabi. Then Nabi also completed his half-century and was caught by Sohail Akhter in the 16th over.
After that Imad Wasim went for duck in the next over. Daniel Christian’s short but quick itinerary ended with 27 runs off 14 balls.
In the last over, Shaheen Afridi hit yorker and bowled Waqas Maqsood out for 12, then Mohammad Amir was shown the exit in the same over.
