Lahore Qalandars announce PSL-like talent hunt program for women

The last PSL 2022 edition winner Lahore Qalandars have announced to introduce PSL-like talent hunt program i.e. Women players development program in order to find new talent for the women’s game.
An MoU has been signed between Punjab Sports Board and Lahore Qalandars for the talent hunt program. The signing ceremony was held at the National Hockey Stadium where Provincial Minister of Sports and Youth Malik Taimoor Masood was the chief guest.
DG Sports Punjab Muhammad Tariq Qureshi and CEO Lahore Qalandars Atif Rana signed the MoU, besides CEO Bank of Punjab Zafar Masood was also present.
Sports Minister Punjab says that PSB and Lahore Qalandars will bring the talent of women forward together as it is important for women to get a chance to move forward.
CEO Lahore Qalandars Atif Rana said that players like Shaheen Shah Afridi, Haris Rauf have emerged through talent hunt programs.
“We will bring girls forward in cricket like boys,” he added.
Director Lahore Qalandars Aqib Javed said that, “women should also get a chance in sports,” and stressed that “Punjab Sports Board and Lahore Qalandars will bring good players to the fore.”
CEO Bank of Punjab (BoP) Zafar Masood announced the prizes for the best performing female athletes.
The two-day trials of the Women Players Development Program will be held on October 18 and 19 at Qalandar’s High Performance Center and Kinnaird College.
