Lahore court orders criminal trial against Nestle over death of baby

LAHORE: A magistrates’ court of Lahore has ordered to start a criminal trial against the food company, Nestle, as a baby died after consuming formula milk. 

According to Barrister and Human Rights Activist Hassaan Niazi ,the report submitted by the police have been annulled by the court and a trial has been initiated against the company. 

Moreover, the First Information Report (FIR) stated that the daughter of Usman Bhatti fell ill after consuming the formula milk of Nestle and was rushed to the hospital, but she couldn’t survive. 

The incident took place three years ago and it took another 18 months for the registration of a case against the company.

Hassaan Niazi took the matter to Twitter and said that “Big news from lahore courts. Court orders that police reports in favour of Nestle is false. Trial against nestle will take place. Big win for Usman Bhatti who’s infant daughter allegedly died after consuming Nestle Lactogen”
