Labourers shut down BRT Peshawar corridor over non-payment of salaries
PESHAWAR: Labourers have shut down corridor of Bus Rapid Transit (BRT) project Peshawar over non-payment of salaries, which has halted the BRT buses being run on trial basis.
They also staged a demonstration against the administration. They said they were not given salaries of last five months.
The protesters demanded provision of salaries as Eid ul Adha is just around the corner. They said the contractor had gone to Lahore.
The labourers threatened to stage sit-in protest before Prime Minister Imran Khan’s house in Islamabad, if they were not paid salaries.
