The Labour Day is being observed all over the world on Saturday (today).
Labour Day is celebrated around the world in memory of the Chicago workers who were killed by police while striking for an eight-hour workday in 1886.
Pakistan’s first labour policy was devised in 1972, in which May 1 was declared an official holiday. Labour Day is celebrated in over 100 countries by over 65 per cent of the world’s population.
On this day, protest, strikes and marches take place. However, this time the celebration will look a little different owing to the current situation of the coronavirus induced pandemic.
