KP shuts down education institutions for 15 days over fears of coronavirus

The government of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa announced that it is shutting down all schools, colleges and universities in the province for 15 days until March 31.
The decision was taken Friday morning during a cabinet meeting in Peshawar. Both cabinet members agreed to keep both institutions of education closed as a precautionary measure against coronavirus outbreak.
The government has also delayed exams at secondary schools. It has ordered teaching centers throughout the province to stay closed for 15 days.
KP Information Minister Shaukat Ali Yousafzai stepped up the decision.
Both scheduled policy sessions in the province have been postponed, too. Meetings with inmates inside prisons were stopped inside.
The development comes hours after the coronavirus count reached 22 in Pakistan, with most cases recorded in Sindh. No cases have yet been reported by Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, but five cases have been reported in Gilgit.
