PESHAWAR: Health Department of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa on Tuesday issued standard operating procedures for tourism, hotels and restaurants across the province.
According to the SoPs, facility of sanitisers will be mandatory at tourist places and all the tourists must bring sanitisers and face masks with them. The facility of checking temperature of tourists at all the entry points will be established.
Hotels will be bound to collect data of tourists and not allow gathering inside the building. The nearest health centre should be contacted at tourist places in case of an emergency. Ailing tourists will be kept separate from healthy people.

All the deputy commissioners and DHOs will be responsible to implement and monitor SoPs. Those who would be suspected of suffering from coronavirus, will have to immediately contact the nearest health centre. Attempt should be made for gathering of as minimum crowd as possible. People should be motivated to adopt social distancing, provided coronavirus awareness and asked to wash hands frequently.
“Banners should be installed and pamphlets should be distributed for awareness about the viral infection. Timings of coming to and going from hotels should be set. Health desks should be established at all the tourist places. Sanitisation of hotel rooms will be mandatory. Staff of hotel and restaurants must wear protective gears and maintain social distancing while giving service,” read the SoPs issued by the provincial government.
