PESHAWAR: The Khyber Pakhtunkhwa government is going to establish camping pods comprising 260 beds at 10 different tourist locations to facilitate tourists across the province.
The Tourism Department of KP in a statement said that installation of pods comprising 26 beds had been completed. Different sizes of pods have the capacity of two beds and four beds.
The process of installation of the pods is going on at six tourist spots while pods at the other four locations would be operationalized by the end of June. Tourists from all across the country have been given the facility of booking their place at the pods over a phone call.
Camping pods in Mahabin, Shaheeday Sar (Buner), Bambooriat (Chitral) and Alai (Battagaram) would be opened this season.
Latif ur Rehman, the spokesperson of the tourism department, said stay at the pods was more peaceful and cheaper in comparison with expensive hotels.
