PESHAWAR: The Khyber Pakhtunkhwa government has formally announced to conserve the house of legendry Bollywood megastar Yusuf Khan, professionally known as Dilip Kumar.
In a video statement, Special Assistant to Chief Minister Khyber Pakhtunkhwa on Information and Higher Education Kamran Bangash said the government was committed to buy four-marla house of the living legend and for this purpose it has imposed Section 4 on buying or selling of the house.
He said the provincial government has allocated funds for buying the house. Then, he said, the house would be renovated and rehabilitated into its original form in the second phase. While, he said, the government will convert it into museum and open it for public in the third phase.
“We are doing these activities under ‘Peshawar Revival Plan’,” he said.
Archeology and Museum Department, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, Director Dr Abdul Samad in a statement said that owner of the house wanted to demolish it and build a commercial plaza instead, however the archeology department has barred him from this and decided to rehabilitate it into its historical form.
