PESHAWAR: Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Chief Minister Mahmood Khan has announced Rs10,000 monthly stipend for about 22,000 Ulema across the province.
The provincial government will spend about Rs227.2 million a month and more than Rs2.5 billion a year for this purpose.
On special directive of the CM, the stipend would be given to Ulema of the merged districts as well. He directed that all the arrangements to provide the religious scholars the stipend should be completed by start of the next financial year.
Chairing meeting of the KP Auqaf Department, Mahmood Khan also announced that solar energy and other requirements of mosques and madrassahs will also be fulfilled on priority basis.
