KP government unable to extend Sehat Insaf Card program

PESHAWAR: Despite claims that the system is facing delays, the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa (KP) government is unable to extend the Sehat Insaf Card scheme by 100%, sources reported on Thursday.

According to details, the provincial regime had announced that it would provide free medical treatment facilities for six million families, but only 2,2 million families who make up less than half of the KP population received the cards.

The officials said the Sehat Insaf Card scheme’s current cost is Rs 6 billion, which will increase to Rs 18-20 billion when all the province’s families receive the cards.

The KP government also announced the provision of medical facilities via national identity card. The administration has said this year it will revive the Sehat Insaf Card programme.
