KP chief minister announces strict action against profiteering, hoarding in Ramazan
Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Chief Minister Mahmood Khan ensured crackdown on those identified to be hoarding and profiteering on regular food products in the month of Ramazan.
“We have passed a bill and will take exemplary action against price hikers,” CM Khan said at a press conference on Thursday.
Prime Minister Imran Khan cautioned against hoarding, too, on 18 April. He said the federal government would soon draft a bill that would ensure stringent sentences for criminals.
Regardless of the country-wide lockdown put in place to curb the spread of the novel coronavirus, many people still face financial problems.
A Peshawar shopkeeper told a local media source that the prices of gram flour, sugar, pulses and ghee have been increased.
A resident also complained that the nation is already facing a crisis, the authorities must also ensure that rates are not inflated artificially.
