Karachi: Karachi Metropolitan Corporation (KMC) cuts urban forest as a step to clean the metropolis city.

The urban forest contained a lake, 15,000 plants of different types and an organic garden producing different vegetables, which were given to the locals “free of cost”.

Recently, KMC cancelled the “adoption agreement” of a three-acre park for the development of an urban forest, located on ST-13 Clifton’s Park Lane in Karachi. KMC officials said that the contractor has failed to develop and maintain the land as a public park, which compelled them to cancel the agreement and take possession of the park.

While cutting the urban forest, argument heated between KMC’s officials and the forest’s administration.
