In response to the video, former singer Rabi Pirzada, who has also changed her lifestyle due to religious obligations, said, “When Allah (SWT) changes someone’s heart, he starts doing good deeds. Prayers for you.”
Talking about girls in a university, Hoodbhoy had said that he had been teaching since 1970s and he did not see burqa-wearing girls during his early time of teaching, however the trend had grown enormously. He criticized that many girls who sat in classes wearing hijab or niqab their participation slumped to such low that sometimes it felt that they were not in the class.
Earlier the Pakistani scientist had said that education of Quranic teachings at schools was a burden on students.
Commenting on his statement, Kiran Naz said that hijab was a part of our culture and she felt proud on it. “Even though I do not observe hijab, but I cannot call a hijab-wearing girl abnormal or anyhow less,” she said.
She said she would host the entire show wearing hijab on that day. After wearing niqab, she said hijab-observing women were as normal as any other woman. Giving example of hijab-wearing women she mentioned Captain Pilot Shahnaz Leghari, the first pilot who wears hijab, Sindh MPA Nusrat Sahar Abbasi and a girl who got 18 medals last year during convocation ceremony at a Faisalabad university.
