 King of victories Babar Azam declared as ODI Cricketer of the Year

Dubai: The ICC has named Pakistan cricket team captain Babar Azam as ODI cricketer of the year. 

According to the ICC press release, the Cricketer of the Year contest was between Shakib Al Hasan, Babar Azam, Milan and Paul Sterling.

Captain Babar Azam scored 405 runs at an average of 67 runs during 2021. Babar Azam scored 228 runs in the ODI series against South Africa and 177 runs in the series against England. 

Babar Azam played only 6 ODIs in 2021 but his performance in the series against England and South Africa was unbeatable. 

Babar Azam’s brilliant innings in ODIs last year was against England in which he scored 158 runs.
