KARACHI: Taking a jibe at Prime Minister Imran Khan, Pakistan Muslim League-N (PML-N) Vice President Maryam Nawaz on Sunday said that kids had no role in the game of kings.

“We know that you are under different pressure. But you should know how to react gracefully in such a situation,” said Maryam Nawaz while addressing the second joint rally of the opposition under banner of the Pakistan Democratic Movement in Karachi.

Former prime minister Nawaz Sharif never mentioned you in his speeches neither during your sit-ins nor now, because he knew that you have no power in the game, she said. Rebuking Imran Khan, she said that after only one public gathering he had started panicking.

“I consider responding to Imran below dignity but Imran tried to disrespect the relation of grandmother so I would tell him that being a grandmother is a blessing and those who are blessed with this relation are truly favoured ones,” she said.

On this occasion, Maryam Nawaz asked Pakistan Peoples Party Chairman Bilawal Bhutto Zardari to promise that they would not go to the extent in opposition as much Imran had gone.

The PML-N vice president said that Nawaz’s one speech has infuriated Imran so much. What wrong did he say, she queried.

On talks of banning the PML-N, she said never ever think about banning PML-N. “This is not Musharraf’s Q league that you would ban it and nobody would say anything. If you would ban PML-N then you would have to ban 22 crore population of Pakistan because PML-N is face of the nation,” she said.

Maryam said they respect army as an institution and those serving the institution and defending the country. However, she said, one or two persons were not complete institution.

She asked if Imran Khan owned Pakistan’s army. She said, “Pakistan’s army is ours.”

“NAB works on directions of Niazi and not just NAB but FIA, FBR and other organizations as well,” she said. She said prices of medicines, commodities and inflation had drastically risen in the current government’s tenure. Families had become jobless, she said.

“You have been declaring others traitors but one case of foreign funding will expose you and your treason,” she said.
