Some unidentified people poured elfy, a highly adhesive substance, into a minor boy’s both eyes in Karachi’s Korangi area.

According to the local police, the incident took place in Korangi No. 4.

After the boy was recovered, he was taken to Sindh Government Korangi Hospital, where he was administrated eye drops to offset the effect of elfy, due to which he was able to open his eyes.

If he had not been given medication on time, the boy would have risked his eyesight, the police said.

They further said some unidentified people poured elfy into the boy’s eyes and left him to fend for himself. The boy was unable to tell the police his name nor provide any information about his parents, they said.

Thus, initially the custody of the boy handed over to Sarim Burney Trust. However, the parents of the boy reached Awami Colony police after the news about the incident went viral.

The boy was identified as eight-year-old Hanan, who went missing at about 8:00 am the same day from Ilyas Goth, told the parents.
