Khyber Pass Economic Corridor, Swat motorway Phase-2 approved by NEC: CM Mahmood Khan
PESHAWAR: Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Chief Minister Mahmood Khan has said the Executive Committee of National Economic Council had accorded approval to two very vital projects for the province including Khyber Pass Economic Corridor and Swat Motorway Phase-2.
He said the people of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa were thankful to the federal Government and Prime Minister Imran Khan for approving these two very important projects for the province.
The chief minister said Khyber Pass Economic Corridor project will be constructed with financial support of the World Bank that would cost an estimated amount of 460 million dollars.
He said under Swat Motorway project, a four-lane-80 kilometers Motorway will be constructed from Chakdara to Fateh Pur.
While inaugurating Chakdara Interchange of Swat Motorway on Jul 9, Chief Minister Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Mahmood Khan had said that completion of Swat motorway would boost the trade and economic activities in the region.
This he had said during a visit to Chakdara Interchange of Swat Motorway. He was apprised that completion of phase one of Swat motorway was in its last phases. He was apprised that phase one will be opened in the end of August this year for traffic.
Mahmood Khan had directed the concerned quarters to complete all the prerequisites to start physical work on Phase-II of Swat Motorway.
