Khyber Pakhtunkhwa govt prepares new Narcotics bill

PESHAWAR: The Khyber Pakhtunkhwa government has prepared new Narcotics Act after lawyers of the province expressed reservations on the amendments in Narcotics Act 1997.
The fresh bill would be presented in the cabinet meeting for approval after getting green light from KP Chief Minister Mahmood Khan. After that it would be presented before the National Assembly.
The amendments would be temporarily suspended through this bill. Following approval of the bill in the House, the government would hold talks with lawyers over it.
Lawyers have announced to observe strike till the bill is moved in the assembly.
