Khyber: 70 police officers including four DSPs, several inspectors suspended for alleged corruption

KHYBER: At least 70 police officers including four deputy superintendent police (DSPs) and several inspectors have been suspended for alleged involvement in corrupt practices.

District Police Officer (DPO) Muhammed Iqbal said on directive of Inspector General of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Police, action had been taken on big scale in police department. He confirmed that 70 police officials including four DSPs and several inspectors had been removed from their posts as investigation into malpractice began.

“Those who have been removed were posted in Landi Kotal, Bara and Tehsil Jamrood,” he said.

Muhammed Iqbal said it was the first time that action was being taken against police’s malpractice in district Khyber.
