LAHORE: Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) leader Khawaja Saad Rafique and his brother Khawaja Salman Rafique on Wednesday have appeared before the accountability court in the Paragon Housing reference.

Strict security arrangements have been taken on the occasion in order to avoid any sort of inconvenience.

The NAB Lahore had approved filing of a reference on April 26 against the Khawaja brothers and Nadeem Zia for ostensible corruption.

Qaiser Amin Butt, the main individual to be accused in the case, was also mentioned in the inquiry by the NAB and arrested in November the previous year. Later, he agreed to turning against Zia and the Khawaja brothers.

On December 11, 2018, the Khawaja brothers were arrested by the accountability watchdog following the rejection of their bail plea by the Lahore High Court (LHC).
