Karachi witnesses coldest night of the year

The mercury dropped to 10 degrees Celsius Friday night in Karachi, making it the coldest night of the year, said Pakistan Meteorological Department (PMD).
Cold and dry weather is likely to persist in the port city for the next 24 hours, with the temperature expected to stay in the 10-12°C range, said the PMD.
According to the PMD, this was the lowest temperature Karachi recorded in the ongoing winter season.
“Cold and dry weather is expected in most parts of the country, while, very cold in northern areas and north Balochistan. Dense foggy conditions are likely to continue over Punjab, plain areas of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa and upper Sindh,” PMD said.
The lowest temperatures were recorded in Skardu -11, Ziarat -09, Astore, Gupis, Kalat -07, Kalam, Gilgit -06, Hunza -05 and Quetta -04.
Earlier on December 01, Karachiites experienced the coldest night of the ongoing winter season as the temperature dropped to 11.5°C.
